An international improv comedy institution since 1993, the 27th annual Die-Nasty Soap-A-Thon returns to the Varscona Theatre running CONTINUOUSLY from Friday, September 13 at 7pm until Sunday, September 15 at 9pm!
The beautiful resort village of Big Little Lake glows with the tender light of late summer. Children are returning to school and the town’s wealthiest mothers are busy with committees and soccer and gossip and white wine. Everything is as it has always been among the monied denizens of this affluent community… until…….. MUUUURRRRDERRRRR!!!
Join the Die-Nasty Soap-a-thon company as they IMPROVISE an entire murder-mystery from its comfortable prologue to its HORRIFYING catalyst and its SHOCKING finale! From the great traditions of Agatha Christie and Murder She Wrote, through to Broadchurch and Big Little Lies, watch as out little village comes alive with suspects and investigators and townsfolk galore! It’ll be HILARIOUS!
Soap-A-Thon 2019 features Die-Nasty favourites including Belinda Cornish, Jesse Gervais, Shannon Blanchet, Jason Hardwick, Stephanie Wolfe, Jeff Haslam, Sheri Somerville, Tom Edwards, Vincent Forcier, Delia Barnett, Kristi Hansen, Paul Morgan Donald, and includes special guests Mat Busby, John Ullyatt, Andrew MacDonald-Smith, April Banigan, Caley Suliak, Braydon Dowler-Coltman, David Ley, Emma Wilmott, Gab Gagnon, Julien Arnold, Kate Ryan, Dylan Sharp, CK Dhaliwal, and on Saturday only the brilliant Patti Stiles… and many more. Directing the Die-Nasty Soap-a-Thon will be Vincent Forcier, Belinda Cornish, Tom Edwards, Stephanie Wolfe, Jeff Haslam, and the welcome return of Stewart Lemoine! Music is directed by Paul Morgan Donald. Die-Nasty is produced by Nicole Thibault.
$20 daily tickets and $60 weekend passes are available at the door. Passes are available online at the link below. The daily ticket allows you to stay as long as you like without leaving. The weekend pass allows you to come and go as you please during the entire 50 hours of Soap-A-Thon. NEW THIS YEAR: Between 1 AM and 9 AM tickets are only $10! STUDENTS AND ARTISTS PAY $10 any time (cash at the door)!
All tickets go on sale at 6pm Friday, September 13 at the Varscona Theatre box office (10329-83 Avenue) and are available all weekend long.
DON’T MISS THE SPECIAL SHIFTS! Saturday from 5PM to 7PM… it’s CLUE! This entire shift is dedicated to the magical world of the cult smash/board game CLUE: it’s a mystery extravaganza with Colonel Mustards, Mrs. Peacockes, Professor Plums, and of course… Wadsworth! Sunday from 1pm to 3pm is the wonderful always-hilarious FAMILY HOUR! Bring the kids!
A Canadian comedy institution for over two decades, Die-Nasty features a dedicated ensemble of improvising actors, musicians, and technicians coming together in an all new serial genre every theatre season on Monday nights at 7:30pm at the beautiful Varscona Theatre in glorious Old Strathcona. Season 20 of Die-Nasty begins Monday October 21. Theme to be announced!

Tickets are $15 or $10 with a $40 membership, and are available at the door (cash only)
Season passes are available at the door for $330 with a reserved seat. Doors open at 6:30pm.
