Parking Changes at the Old Strathcona Farmers’ Market Lot
Parking is plentiful in Old Strathcona, with many options (paid and free) located throughout the neighbourhood.
One of the closest lots is the Old Strathcona Farmers Market Parking Lot, located on the east side of Gateway Blvd. Previously, the Varscona had a parking discount available for patrons using this lot. However, this discount is no longer available as of April 1, 2025.
The new rates are $2.50 an hour or a daily rate of $10.00. The evening rate will be $8.00. Payment can be made through the HotSpot Parking app, by scanning the QR code posted on the signage at the lot, or by visiting htsp.ca/ed. No EPark machines will be installed at this location.

The Varscona Theatre is located at 10329 - 83 Avenue in Edmonton, Alberta. Our building is across from the Old Strathcona Farmers Market and the Walterdale Theatre, right in the heart of the Edmonton’s Theatre District.
Transit
Our central location is accessible by bus. Edmonton Transit routes 4 and 8 travel up down Whyte Avenue (82 Ave) at regular intervals. Strathcona County Transit (from Sherwood Park) operates route 404, which also makes several stops in the neighbourhood.
Cycling
The theatre is located along a bike route on 83 Ave. There are many bike racks located throughout the neighbourhood, which are for public use.
