Everyone’s a bit suspicious and no one’s really free of guilt, but that doesn’t matter if we’re all friends, right? Betrayal really is the sincerest form of flattery in this sleek and fast-paced contemporary thrill ride, in the style of Cause and Effect and Evelyn Strange. The glamorously adroit cast includes trusted Teatro regulars Jenny McKillop, Mathew Hulshof, Kendra Connor, and Vincent Forcier, plus alluring curveballs Patricia Cerra and Garett Ross in their startling company debuts.
It’s been a whole year since we flung open the doors and unveiled our beautifully rebuilt Varscona Theatre, right in the heart of Old Strathcona. Since that time, thousands of Edmontonians have experienced the Varscona’s unique atmosphere, which marries its cozy past with a fresh and elegant present. The Varscona is the home not only of Teatro, but Shadow Theatre, Die-Nasty The Live Improvised Soap Opera, and The Plain Janes, among other small companies, making it one of the busiest and most collaborative theatre spaces in the country. So what’s not to celebrate? The Varscona Theatre First Anniversary Gala will feature delightful company, delectable goodies and cocktails, and a spectacular show featuring many of the wonderful performers you’ve loved onstage throughout our first year, including: Leona Brausen, Coralie Cairns, Patricia Cerra, Mari Chartier, Kendra Connor, Belinda Cornish, Patricia Darbasie, Oscar Derkx, Paul Morgan Donald, Annie Dugan, Jenna Dycks-Busby, Vincent Forcier, Jason Hardwick, Jeff Haslam, Dave Horak, Andrea House, Mathew Hulshof, Madeleine Knight, Jenny McKillop, Jameela McNeil, Mark Meer, Jana O’Connor, Gianna Read, Jaimi Reese, Garett Ross, Sheri Somerville, Davina Stewart, John Ullyatt, Judy Unwin, Stephanie Wolfe, and more- all under the sublime tutelage of Stewart Lemoine! There’ll be glorious song, zaftig dance, and delicious comedy bits both high and low… all reflecting our theme: an evening of firsts! Tickets for this fabulous full-on shin-dig are $100 and are on sale now!
