A long time ago, in a city far, far to the north...

...well, about 10 years ago or so, really. And the city is Edmonton, one of the world's northernmost major cities. But that's neither here nor there. What is important is that about 10 years ago in Edmonton, a group of actors and improvisors got together to try putting together a weekly improvised soap opera: Die-Nasty. From its humble beginnings, Die-Nasty has become a Monday night institution with a rabid following, edging further and further into the mainstream consciousness. Die-Nasty has also spread the soap virus. Workshops by people such as world-traveller Patti Stiles have led to other soap outbreaks, such as in San Francisco. There doesn't seem to be any end in sight.
